By 2050, the coming depression will
be long forgotten. So cheer up everyone.

..... Exactly WHAT happens during a depression!
The problem is, no body has any money. As
things get cheaper, profits go down, companies get
closed and people get hours reduced or are unemployed.
People and Companies are unable to repay enormous debt
and credit becomes almost unobtainable. Do some folks do well
in a depression sure, but the other 70% of us are really in trouble.
As 40lks collapse and fixed benefit pensions are no longer solvent
you will have retired people who no longer have adequate means
of support.Of course, things might not get as bad as we may fear.
But, WHAT IF IT DOES?
Once the downward cycle gets well established, It usually
takes years to pull the economy out of the sink hole.

<< <i>Bear, it looks like these things just have to go in a cycle. No matter what system is in place, there will be those who abuse it until things get way out of whack like now.... and things just have to crash out and then start over. Guess nothing lasts forever. We had some good financial times, and now looks like we have to take some bad times. But lets hope it lasts no more than a year or two (could last much longer, depending on how bad the politicians can screw things up). >>
probably suffer less then most hard assets. In the case of inflation,
rare coins should prove a good storehouse for absolute value and
then some. This economic crises will not impact coins anywhere near
1970. in the 70s, coins had been inflated to 3-4 times their true value.
Today, coins are pretty much valued near there actual value. No coin
bubble this time.
