Question re 8 and 2 Reale Coins
small.gif)
Good morning all. I usually post over at the US Coins forum and seldom venture over here. I was hoping to get some help with a few coins. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a couple coins I can't figure out... I've got a low MS high AU Mexican 8 Reale dated 1895. I also have a mexican 2 Reale dated 1853 (lower grade G or VG) and a Spanish 2 Reale dated 1896 with Carolus IIII on obverse and the pillar disign on the reverse (also lower grade, AG or G). I can't figure out how to post pics or I would.
Just trying to figure out what if these have any value; whether they are worth keeping or more valuable to sell.
Thanks
Ray

I assume you mean 1796 for that Carolus IIII coin.
The letter(s) between the denomination (8R for ex.) and the date would determine the mint and affect the value of the coin.
To post a pic it already has to be hosted somewhere on the Internet to enter the URL address in the Forum's popup window.

I'll try to find a way to post pics. Thanks for replying.

The mint is in front of the date and the initials after the date represent the assayer.
