1942 type 1 war nickels?

Do these bring a premium?

Type 1 without the mintmark?

No...not according to the price guide, anyway. Unless it's a FS MS67. image

    what am I missing here?

    War nickel without a mintmark?

Are you saying you have a silver nickel struck with the pre-war nickel reverse die?

No just a type 1 nickel, I am probably mistaken by calling it a war nickel.

They are a nice coin and have a premium but not as much as the silver variety due to the fact the silver 1942P is a one year type coin and as such there is more of a demand...
also most people that collect proof sets in capital holders can't locate the 6 hole ( 2 nickel ) one for 1942 and use the regular one with 5 holes and put in the silver proof..

If you can't swim you better stay in the boat.......
