What's the more desirable rookie card? 1948 Bowman Musial or 1948 Leaf Musial??

I'm going to get one of these to get signed for my HOF signed rookie collection. What is considered the most desirable one? The 1948 Bowman version or the 1948 Leaf version?? Are they both considered Stan Musial's rookie??

The most desirable to me is the 1948 Bowman. Honestly, I like both, but there's just something extra special about that 48' Bowman photo.

I think of the 48 Bowman as his main rookie card.

Basically, yeah. I have never viewed it as his rookie card.

ok thanks. I thought they were both 1948 but if the color one is 1949 then ill definitely get the black and white Bowman one.

Why not get his true rookie............ 1946 Propagandas Montiel

    .... and its 100X rarer.

PS All Leaf cards are from 1949 ..........not 1948.

He would have to find a signed one first.

What do the 1946 Propagandas Montiel run in G-VG?? Do you know where one is available? Have a scan of one? I'm not adverse to getting one if it's attractive and affordable. It doesn't have to be signed first as I can get it signed through Musial directly.

If all Leaf cards are from 1949, how come PSA labels them as 1948?? I've seen several on ebay that are labeled 1948?

    Bowman without question.

I think the Leaf looks nicer but the Bowman is the one to have.

I prefer the Leaf card myself! The Bowman is easier to find though.

The Leaf 1948 vs 1949 question has been around for a while. PSA still labels them as 1948. I don't remember what SGC does. The story I've heard is that the set either came out in late 1948 or early 1949.

BTW, I've always preferred the Leaf. If you can get one with a deep blue background it makes for a beauty of a card.
