1980 Charlotte O's set with JSA Authenticated Ripken

This set sold unauthenticated for $721.67 this past April. Quite a difference! Congratulations, Trevor!

    Just a question.How would one authenticate all the no names in the set? Most of them never made it to the bigs and have few or no known examples of their sigs.

    You bring up a good question. In fact, I wondered that myself during the auction.

    I currently have nothing authenticated by JSA. My only experience with them came on a signed 1957 Unitas that they authenticated. The sig did not look like any Unitas sig I had ever seen so I called and asked about it. In the process I was told that they do not even have a database that keeps up with the serial numbers. Where it gets more awkward is that when I asked if they had a money back guarantee on what they certified the voice on the phone said they "were not sure".
