How long do you wait?

To file with paypal about an item not received? I bought a card 2 weeks ago from a person in the U.S. Paid for it the day after it ended and I still haven't gotten it yet. I tried to e-mail this person and no response. Do you think 2 weeks is enough time or would you let it go longer. I know there was Veterans Day and the PO was closed, but still. Also this person stated in auction payment was due within 3 days after auction ended. What to do?

    You have LOTS of time.

    Patience is GOOD.

I would NEVER complain before 30-days had passed.

Before I purchase anything from someone on eBay, I make it a habit to check their feedbacks and DSRs just to get an idea about how fast they ship, answer emails, etc.

If a seller has low scores for shipping and communication and I buy anyway, then I would almost expect to wait 3-4 weeks before filing.

If he has high marks in those two areas, I would naturally expect my emails to be answered quickly and my item delivered within a week.

Sometimes unforseen problems occur which may prevent or delay a seller from communicating or shipping in a timely/expected/satisfactory manner.

Lastly, there are those sellers that never seem to get their emails or simply refuse to be bothered, but once a complaint is filed, their sense of urgency is restored and they respond with all kinds of excuses.

It's your call .... Use your best judgement, have as much patience as your can stand, and try to give the other person the benefit of the doubt. Never jump to conclusions.

    Good luck,

I'm with Storm. I'd give it probably 2 more weeks before I filed anything.

If they have not responed to your e-mails 2 weeks that would be enough for me to get the ball rolling. I bet once you start a claim the seller will answer you with in a few hours.

Storm your a patient man if you can wait 30 days for what you paid for.

7 days......then file ASAP.......................usually gets them going. If i can pay same day or next, then you can ship within a couple of days also. Unless you are in Canada...all bets are off.
  • I guess with me it depends on how much money is involved. The more money involved the less patience I have.

If im reading the OP correctly he won the item 2 weeks ago. He didn't say he emailed the seller 2 weeks ago.

    I agree with 30 days.

I don'y even worry a little til the 5 week mark, seriously.

Canada customs has a funny way of not carring about delivery times.
