1975 Mini's - What grade would these get?

I just pulled these from a pack from BBCE and I was looking to possibly get them graded. I am just unsure how PSA grades the 75 mini's. The George Brett appears to have a soft bottom right corner and some sort of white print dot on the bottom. Those are only in the scan for some reason it is really not there, the corner is fine and that white print dot might be dust on my scanner. The Tom Seaver has some printing ink on the bottom left corner. The Jim Palmer appears perfect in my opinion, and the Charlie Williams has a fish eye on the left hand border. The Steve Carlton is OC left to right. I am far from an expert grader and I know that psa can be picky on giving out high grades for older cards. If you guys can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

They pretty much go with their regular grading rules regarding sports cards, with the exception of the minimum size requirement.
  • that's a helluva pack!

imo, the williams looks the best, shot at a 9?

i'd say the seaver will get a ST qualifier and the carlton an OC unless you request no qualifiers.

palmer maybe an 8 unless the bottom right corner is softer than it appears.

    brett looks like a 7.

nice job pulling a brett. i pulled one recently and the carlton was there as well...both much more OC than what yours were.

    Thanks,

What makes you think that the brett would get a 7? Just to made it clear, the right corner is not soft like it looks in the scan, and there is no print dot near the right botom. I think there was some dust on the scanner that caused it to look like a print dot. I was thinking more of an 8 and if I got luckey a 9.
  • The Brett looks a little OC t/b - without measuring it looks like it would fall within the 8 range but I wouldn't be shocked to see it get a 7 either (depending on how bad the corner is). The Palmer also looks OC t/b, the Seaver appears to have the best centering...

The Brett and Palmer are either diamond cut or have big tilts. Nice cards otherwise.
  • It's a shame that the Brett is titled! Great Pack though! Thanks for sharing!
  • If they were mine, I would only sub the Brett simply because of the resale value. Even a PSA 7 would give you a nice return but that card has a shot at an 8 and even 9 if you get really lucky. The rest all have issues that are clearly visible in the scans so they must be even more visible in hand.

The only card I might submit would be the Brett though the top to bottom centering is poor. The print defect on the Seaver spoils that card. The others are too poorly centered. The Palmer has top to bottom centering problems and tilt. The Williams has top to bottom centering issues. The Carlton has top to bottom and left to right centering issues.

The Brett probably gets 8 OC assuming the bottom right corner is fine (you say it is but you also say the Palmer is perfect which it isn't).

    Still a great pack.

Your cards should grade between 7 and 9.

    Hope that helps.

Yes, what an amazing pack that was. You must be Steve's (BBCE) brother-in-law. image

Seaver will get a ST or Pd qualifier in all likelihood. The Williams, Carlton and Palmer are likely to get an OC qualifier (the Palmer could get a straight 8). I think your best card is actually the Brett. I'd say that card comes back an 8. Good luck if you decide to submit! I've sent in hundreds of 75 minis are they are tough to find centered and mint.

I am only going to sub. the George Brett I think. It is not worth the $ for the other cards unless you can pull an 8 or a 9.
