1955 Topps Double headers...some grades in!

Just moved into a new house and started talking to the guy next door. He has a complete 53 topps set mostly vg/ex.
He also has a good amount of 1955 topps double headers. I would say he has anywhere from 100-125 cards and they are in factastic condition. With that said, I have never handled the double headers. These do have nrmt or better corners on most but not sure how the fold is graded? Has anyone here sent these in to psa for grading? Can some of you post some quality pics of some that you may have. What is the demand on these? I am trying to work out a deal where I get a percentage of the sales after grading. He has all the big cards, Ted williams, aaron, robinson etc..

1955 Topps Double Headers
and
(1) 1934 Goudey Lou Gehrig #37 mid to low grade that presents well
Originally distributed in one-card, penny packs with gum, these cards were manufactured in much smaller quantities than the regular 1955 Topps singles.
"There's just not that many (Topps Double Headers cards) out there," said Don Spence, owner of the Registry's No. 1 Double Headers set.
Most cards from this issue boast horizontal perforations that facilitate the folding of these cards, but non-perforated examples have surfaced. PSA will not grade the non-perforated singles.
"It's rumored that a find of uncut sheets occurred some time ago and the non-perforated versions are believed to originate from those sheets," explained PSA president Joe Orlando.
Because of their size, these cards were not graded by PSA until 1999, reports Ron Hobbs, owner of the No. 1 Registry set from 2002 to 2007.

I will add more pics tomorrow. Problem right now is that I have no protective holders for them.
What size top loaders do I need for these....
on these? I see a bunch or people working on registry sets which is a good sign.
Also, doesnt seem to be too many high grades according to the pop report. Looks
like the key on these are psa 7's or better? 8's probably get BIG $$$ - ?
Here is an uncut panel I picked up about 5 years ago
I'll disagree with Don Spence, I don't think they are that hard to find- probably one of the easiest non main sets.
Packs and boxes aren't too tough either
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
That being said, many of the cards really look like they are in great shape. Best of luck to your neighbor and you in getting high grades from PSA and even higher bids on eBay.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Double headers are nice too, first I've seen of them.

The only thing that stinks about the set is that Banks is on the back not the front of a card. Topps stole the idea from the 1911 mecca double folds.
The players checklisted are the same ones in the regular issue of series 1 and 2 in the 1955 Topps set.
I found that that the cards where easy to obtain. Your cards should grade 8 (except the aaron) and they will bring nice money.
Good Luck ! Scott
I think these have a shot at 8's.
Jackie robinson will get a lower grade and the Aaron will get a O/C for sure...

Thnx
and here is the last card in the set with a BIG chunk missing
Hello,
In order to further process submission "zxcvbnm" we need you to agree to the folowing:
I authorize psa to unfold the cards listed on submission form "zxcbnm" on lines xx-xy and cv-cy and release PSA of any liabilty for any damage that may occur when unfolding the product
A phone call would not get it done I had to email a response to PSA

Im ready to send in some of these double headers but just noticed something...
check out the backside of the banks card..
notice the top of the card, you can see a small part of another card on top. Is this considered a MC?
Or is this normal because around 80+ cards here are all like that. Only a few cards dont have that and have full white border all around it.
Im wondering how PSA looks at this? If anyone has any, please help me out. Thnx!
Here is the Banks card example..
Banks....
Hope someone can chime in and can help me with my question...
Looks like the cards all have the extra print on the back.
Nice series. Thanks for bringing it to the boards.

good luck with them, very cool to see them all laid out to get that overview.
collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
<< <i>Is this considered a MC? >>
In my experience, it is not a MC with the '55 Doubleheaders. In fact, the card would have to be almost miscut to not have the extra card showing on the back.

I figured the robinson would grade a bit less because there is a indentation on it. Williams I thought for sure would grade a 8

PoppaJ
I thought he might be with over half of them being 7s or 8s!?!?
But I can certainly understand your point if he was expecting more of them to grade out higher than they did.
I'd be happy with those 7s
