PCGS new service

Will the new Genuine holder that is being discussed on the lite side also be used for World Coins?

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

I would assume so ... I read the whole post and I still don't get what the big deal is.
Its just another service ... you'd swear some people are more interested in the "slab" than the coin.
I have a few coins that are NCS "genuine" would I care if the label was NGC or PCGS ..... no ....
after all they are "not graded" and I know that they have problems.
but I also know that my "graded" NGC/PCGS/ANAC coins do not.

    Link to thread on Lightside

It would be good for all those old crusty coins that simply don't come in slab-worthy conditions.
  • I think it's a pretty good idea, I suppose. Like Silvereagle said, I don't see what the big deal is.

Personally, I like the slabs for the storage. I sent in a few a while back that came back bagged - some I disagreed with, but the point is, I would have prefered the superior storage in return than a plastic flip. I can't really see what the drawback is.

It would definitely be a benefit to the registry, in my opinion.

I agree, I think its a logical move. There will be some that still crack them out and resubmit them hoping to get them in standard holders, but since your paying to have the coin slabbed...

I think by far the biggest threat to the PCGS empire is the Chinese counterfeit slabs. If they get too good and most collectors/ or novices can't tell the difference then the PCGS name will be dragged down and people won't trust in the safety and security of slabs.

    To be sure NO
