Anyone here know anything about Dassier medals?

Before you all tell me to go visit Ben Weiss's website, I have already sent Mr. Weiss an E-Mail. But I know the wealth of information that is here also. I'm wondering if anyone knows when this series if Dassier medals was made? Was it from the origional dies? The reason I ask, is I have some of the late 1800s restrikes and these look like a much earlier die strike. The devices are much sharper on these then the bronze/copper ones. Thanks!!!

That is a nice one! image

I have no idea when these were made, but the original Kings series appeared in the 1730s.

If you wind up without an answer, you might want to try asking Paul Bosco - a really knowledgeable guy on medals.
