  • Modern high grade slabbed coins are a bubble that will burst. The coins are essentially all identical. The TPG's are making a lot on them though. Remember at the beginning of the TPG concept they did not grade modern coins. I wonder why. Then they decided to grade them when they saw how much money they could make. I believe the TPG's see these coins as all pretty much the same but if people are dumb enough to get them graded who are they to not take their money.

    I think the collectors of the modern stuff are getting brain washed by all the hype about the rarity of stuff and the registry sets are creating a market for them. If the registry sets dissapeared would the value of these ultra grade coins drop? I think so.
