Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
<< <i>type of schedule and league they are playing in.

Their toughest games are Indiana and Navy, LOL. I guess you have to play who's on your schedule, but there's no way they should ever climb past #15 in the rankings, unless they can beat a formidable opponent in a bowl game.
<< <i>USC or TTech >>
Man, I hope we can even get back in the picture. I guess there's a chance thanks to the Tech-OU game and the Big XII and SEC conference championships, but I'll say Florida.
It's definatly fun to watch them play. And to think we lost one of the top college WR in Dante Love with a career ending spinal injury....

FINISHED 12/8/2008!!!
just put a stop to all the playoff talk.

To me, the top 4 in college football seem to all make good cases for being the best team in the nation. I wouldn't want something like a 16 team playoff system, but maybe a system where the winner of the Rose (1 vs. 4) and Orange (2 vs. 3) Bowls would meet up in the championship game. Just a thought.
A playoff system is the only way to truly say who is the best. Only teams in the same conferences play similar teams and schedules so it is impossible to know really who is the best until they play each other head to head.

College football already has a playoff system. It begins in week 1, and ends in week 14.
If you expanded the 2 team National Championship Game to 4 teams, then you are still going to leave out some good teams.
If you expand it to 8 teams, then you are already watering it down. If you expand it to 16 teams, then you are
killing the regular season schedule and the intensity it brings.

Well then, 6 teams it is!!!

Can't do 6. Can only do 4 or 8 or 16.

1st round bye for #1 and #2........one step ahead of ya.
The other solultion is to not award any National Champion and have teams play for conference and bowl trophys. At least those don't require poles, computers and eyeball tests to figure out.
It seems alot of fans still put tons of weight on Conference and Bowl victories, when really shouldn't it be about the championship? The BCS system is unfair and unbalanced.
<< <i> The BCS system is unfair and unbalanced. >>
All systems are unfair and unbalanced if you think of it.
Why should the Dodgers make the playoffs this year ? Why don't division winners in MLB get more of a playoff advantage then
their wild card counterparts ?
Why does hockey allow practically everybody into the playoffs ? The regular season means squat. It's not fair that these teams that
win the division may have to run into a hot goalie from a weak team and lose in the first round.
Why does pro football play the super bowl in a nuetral site instead of rewarding the team that was the best during the regular
season ? Shouldn't their fans and owner enjoy a home game for all their hard work during the season ?
I'm just saying that arguments can be made that all playoff systems are unfair and unbalanced.

That would work.
I actually think the BCS doesn't matter this year. If Alabama and Florida win out and play each other for the SEC championship, and
the Big 12 South winner destroys Missouri in the Big 12 Championship, then it will be a fair and balanced game.
keep in mind that if Oregon State wins out and USC wins out, then Oregon State will win the Pac-10, play in the Rose Bowl,
and if enough top ranked teams lose, then USC could play for the national championship without even winning their conference.
Is that fair ?
