I've got to think that the fact he plays for San Fran had something to do with it. It's rare that greatness can overcome the overall lack thereof surrounding it.
Just think of Zack Grienke and Tim Lincecum on the same staff, two of the best young starters in the game. Add Gil Meche and that would be a great trio. Just dreaming, that's what Royals fans would be looking at if they had drafted Lincecum No. 1. Still have high hopes for Luke Hochevar, who they took ahead of Lincecum, but damn a Cy Young already!!
