    Somewhat interesting, albeit long, article...

  • I'm not sure which is more disturbing-- the $2 trillion or the lack of transparency of where or who the money is going to.
  • I'm surprised it's that low.

I wouldn't doubt over twice that by the time we are done bailing out everyone except the citizens.
"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."

and then Bloomberg needs to file an FOIA to get this private banking consortium (Federal Reserve) to say where they lent OUR money!!

We live in bizzaro world now, it is insane!

Yeah, it's hard to keep up with which private bankers are getting the most bonuses and resort gigs from all the free money that the Fed creates from the new debt that we are liable for, that is being used to replenish all of the bank losses from all of the bogus money that was created to fund banking operations at 40:1 leverage.

It's all dirty. All of it. For the Record - your salary means squat. Your savings are meaningless. You will have no retirement.

I wonder how many people realize that the "continuity of the government" is the prime objective of these sleasebags? That does not have anything to do with your own personal safety and security. It has nothing to do with "freedom". I can't decide if socialism or imperialism is worse from a citizen's perspective. As luck would have it, we will probably end up with both.
Q: Are You Printing Money? Bernanke: Not Literally

    I knew it would happen.
  • Where does the line form? I want some bailout money too.

Now Yahoo News says that they have completely changed the paramaters of the $700 billion bailout program.
They are not going to buy up troubled collateral assets after all.
Who the heck is running this fandango???????????

  • We're already at 4.5 trillion and counting.

The number of groups lining up for more of our free money is astounding!

  • As a NYer. I would say anything Doomberg says is probably TOLD to him....after what he is trying to do here, I'd say his biz sense is only good when it comes to his wallet...he's bleeding us dry..and now the NY Post reports out one particular welfare program is costing taxpayers over $500 Million..he can forget a 3rd term...
  • Four trillion Yuan is the size of the recent Chinese stimulus (about $530 billion USD). Considering the relative sizes of the Chinese and U.S. economies, even $4 trillion USD wouldn't be abnormally large, considering the problems that many say need fixing.

As the comedian Henny Youngman used to crack:
    "How's your wife?"

    "Compared to what?"

  • Last figures I saw showing $5 Trillion and on the way to $7 Trillion.
  • my signature lyrics are getting closer to fruition every day. Ray Davies was writing about the UK but he might as well have been writing about the US in that song
