I don't like her one bit. I have talked with her several times and have purchased coins from her. She is arrogant to me and was not professional at all. I will not do business with her, if I can help it.

  • Yes, she is at many of the California shows, Long Beach, Santa Clara, the monthly shows in LA,
and recently I saw her for the first time at a small northern California local show (Sacramento aka
    McIntosh).

    Her prices are fair.

She will work with you to help you find coins that fit your existing collection in terms of color and
grade. She will be honest with you about coins in her case that might have problems. She has
never bought from me a coin that had any kind of problem. Her inventory of raw coins is complete
across year and grade, and while she has a lot of certified coins, it can be hit or miss finding any
particular date or grade in a slab.

She is widely regarded as one of the friendliest sellers at the shows.

I notice that her web page, which you linked to, now has an inventory and price list. That is
    definitely something new.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Well said. The Penny Lady knows her copper. With her help, I just placed a primo 1921-S Lincoln with a top customer of mine. He was thrilled with the coin and the price.
I am suprised to see such a neg review so quickly.

I had a table next to her at the show this weekend and thought she was very nice.

She knew who some of the bad dealers were in the room and couldn't stand them. She had very good relationships with the dealers I consider to be great people whether I be behind or in front of the table.

For just meeting her this weekend she was very trusting of me and though I have never purchased from her she gets good marks from me as a person.

Charmy is one of the good guys (gals). She won't steer you wrong and she's got nice stuff. Not a bad poker player either.

    A couple things ...

I saw Todd and his buddy the mustang guy next to Charmy at this particular
show a couple of days ago.

A comment on Todd's photography: his photos look exactly like the coins,
    except larger. image

If Todd and Charmy agree about who were the good and bad dealers at this show,
then I'd like the inside scoop ... Todd, please PM me if you feel it's more appropriate
that way. Some of these same dealers will be at the Santa Clara show this week,
and I'd like to know who I might thing about avoiding, and who I might think
about making an extra effort to see ...

    Thanks,
    Mark

i have purchased from Charmy in the past and was pleased with the coins received.......well described and she discounted from her published price

also, she was high bidder in an ebay auction of mine a few years ago (1877 IHC in PCI F12) and paid very promptly

always courteous and polite to me

drddm- What is the price difference between what you sold the coin and what it is now listed if you do not mind? I do not sell a lot of coins to dealers and have never seen a coin that i sold end up on a website. Just curious to the mark-up. Sounds like you recieved a price you were happy with. Thanks,

She always has a bottle of good red wine waiting for when I come by to buy.

Good poker player - played hold-'em with her at Binion's in Vegas at the Sam's Town show and at the Indian casino in Tucson at the last Tucson Show (with some board members too).

  • I've only dealt with her through eBay, as she's been buying from us for years. We've exchanged a couple emails, and I've always enjoyed her business, her knowledge and her pleasant emails. For the person who she rubbed the wrong way, I'm sorry that happened. I have NEVER had time for arrogant people, and she's never come across that way. I think she's a class act and knows what she wants and knows what she's selling.

I've always met with her at most of the shows here in So. Cali... She seems to be an honest dealer based on my experience. Her prices seems little strong, but her inventory has alot of good quality material to choose from. I never had bought anything from her yet, but I will probably do so, in the near future...

Thank you everyone for your comments. Sounds like she is a good candidate for some of my future copper purchases. I ended up buying an 1858 Flying Eagle Cent (PCGS MS64) and a 1943-S (PCGS MS66) from her. I was a happy camper with the coins. She was nice to my mom at the show too. Mom has alzeimers and while personable, is a bit of a challenge to carry on a conversation with. Charmy was nice to my mom. Very paitent.

She had #12 from her Coin List at the show. I'm so very tempted to pick it up. Sweet looking coin!

Great person and you will not find much better prices anywhere. A++ in my book.
