Let's not loose sight of why we watch College Football. It defines excitement and the unexpected happens more often than what is anticipated. There will always be disagreements in terms of which Conference is best or which two teams should play for the BSC Championship game as well as over the BSC concept itself. There are no definitive answers in sports... its not a math problem whereby there is correct answer. This is the nature and world of sports. If it were too predictable, would you watch?
In contemplating back upon the endings of the Iowa- Penn State game and LSU-Alabama game, this explains exactly why we watch... often in amazement with the outcome, especially if it is not the expected outcome. So is it really as important who plays in a Championship game if it is too predictable in terms of which teams ultimately play and who wins if there is a complete failure to create a level of excitement worthy for the set expectations of a Championship game? And then the final question is... Will the game be one that leaves a lasting impression that will be remembered for years to come? I would rather see the excitement than see the script...
