    Cool piece!

Why was it called the/a "Quartette" sale? Did four guys from a barbershoppe sing there?

I have several B&M catalogs from QDB times and I know they always used such non-conventional spellings for n-tets (OK, n-tettes) of things, and never the more pedestrian "Group of four" wording.
  • DUIGUY - I wish any and all "AU" items looked as nice as that one.

As for the "Spring" part of the sale...it was held on March, 26 & 27, 1992. The"Quartette" part of the title, was for the four main consignors - Henry Garrett, Robert Hudson, William McCamy, and David Mayhew.

I know nothing about their singin abilities however.

It was a very interesting assemblage and I use this catalogue frequently for reference.

PM me if you are looking for U.S. auction catalogs
