Joe Morgan stated during a game that a player can score from 3rd 7 different ways with 2 outs and the batter does not get a hit.
Can anyone name the 7 ways. He never stated how:
I can name some:
1) Wild pitch
2) Strike out where the runner reaches home on throw to first and player safe at 1st.
3) Passed ball
4) steal home
5) Balk
Now I am stuck on the last 2. Can anyone help?

Edited to add: Catcher's interference.

Edited to add: Catcher's interference. >>
well the walk is if only bases loaded.
catchers interference i am not sure of. that would just award the batter 1 st base, so again only if bases are loaded.
what about a ball put in play but a fielding error...there is no hit awarded but runner could score.

I never in a million years thought I would have to add that part.
How about a fielders choice?

In order for there to be a fielder's choice, they would have to get an out. That would be the third out and I don't believe the run would count even if he crossed the plate before the out. I believe that rule only applies on a double play, but I could very well be wrong.

catcher's balk A rarely called violation of catcher's interference charged as a balk when a catcher leaves the catcher's box before the pitch is delivered, especially on an Intentional Base On Balls (IBB). The balk penalty would award the batter first base and any runners would advance.
[Official Baseball Rules, 2004 Edition, published by Triumph Books], Rule 4.03(a)
In order for there to be a fielder's choice, they would have to get an out.
Craig it is possible for a player to hit into a FC and be called safe.
As long as the fielder has a choice is all that matters, not if he gets the out or not.
Ground ball to 3rd, runner on first, 3rd baseman throws on to second but runner beats throw and is called safe,
batter runner also safe at first due to no throw or beats throw.
Batter runner is awarded a FC. not a single

1) Failed Pickoff attempt
2) Fielders Choice
also, what about an error, the runner scores yet no hit is recorded.
That would make 8 different ways a runner scores from 3rd with no hit by the batter and 2 outs whereas the runner on 3rd is the only base runner.

On second thought you may be correct. Even if the catcher balks the 'balk' is given to the pitcher.
So I dunno.
Steve
Walk, passed ball, wild pitch, balk, FC, pick off attempt, error. = 7 ways
I think, but am not certain but a dropped thrid strike is either a passed ball or a wild pitch depending on what the scorer says.
