Interesting look to this Weimar 5RM coin ... my guess is it has been doctored ...

Could be polished (whizzed), but why would the seller with 100% positive feedback take that chance?
  • At first glance of the photos it looks like a modern restike to me. Of course he is really hyping it as Rare and unique.

Something just does not seem right to me.

  • I have a bunch of those in MS condition. They're fairly common and easily obtainable in higher grades. I'm not saying the coin in question isn't dipped, but I'd give benefit of the doubt.

Guess his claim of rare is not correctimage

    "EXTREMELY RARE!!!" = image

There actually is a rare variety version... It doesn't have the "D" mint mark.

You have all overlooked the fact that this isn't a coin but a commemorative medal. Goetz had submitted this design, as a 5 Mark pattern (uber rare), in competition for a new coin with the Bavarian Mint. His design wasn't accepted (actually none of his coin designs were ever accepted) and he was convinced by a buddy that he should remove the value designator from the design and strike it as commemorative medal for Hindy's 80th birthday. This is the most highly minted medal of his career with over a million struck at the Bavarian Mint.

Not quite a dime a dozen, but nearly so...

There are far nicer examples out there.
