Overstrike Collection?

Has anyone decided to collect overstrikes? This whole 960 reis discussion has gotten me looking for well known types and examples...

Obviously the more detail on the host coin, the better


I dont know if this is too broad a focus, Im just getting familiar with the topic. Any good references out there? I would think this might be Appendix level information anyways, probably nothing dedicated exclusively to overstrikes..

Id appreciate any example pics out there

overstruck on a 1790 Macclesfield penny.

Some of the Canadian Colonial tokens were struck over Bristol 1/2 pennies.
