Moving store inventory to a fixed price listing.

Does anyone else have trouble with this? I was trying to move a few things tonight, and I keep getting this error message.

  • I had the same problem last month and eBay live help told me I could not change a fixed price listing to a regular auction or vice versa.

When I had an ebay store, what worked for me , was to cancel the item , then relist it in another catagory. Its all about the $.

Very weird. Does this mean that you also can't change a store listing to a fixed price (or auction) listing?

Here's the nutty response I got from Ebay:

    Dear Guy,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to item specifics

This is an easy fix fortunately, so let me walk you through it.

    1. Go to the item that you want to move over to fixed price.
    2. Revise the listing
    3. In the Item Specifics section, just change that
    4. You are good to go!

    Nice and easy image

If this does not fix the issue you are having, please email in with the
    error message you are receiving.

All well and good, except what in the hell is the 'that' he mentions in line three?

guess it's gotta mean the price, quantity, etc, area?

I don't know, Steve. I can't figure it out. Of course, it doesn't help that I got stuck with The Riddler as my Ebay help rep, but it still seems like this fix should be fairly self-explanatory...

I don't know if this helps, but here's a link to the error I keep getting Text

i know LSU is right that you can't switch back & forth between fixed price and auction. - I've made that listing error a few times. Instead of redoing the whole thing, I just clicked "sell similar item" and did a new auction or sale, and then simply deleted the other one. I don't have an ebay store, so I guess worst case scenario, this is what you may have to do - just click "sell similar item' - list it the way you want, and then just cancel the store item.

You need to go to the page then click the link. Once there, you will see some options, so you choose that option and you should be good.

You should be able to simply click on

    Move To Online Auction

    or

    Move To Fixed Price

from your MYEBAY page; right hand side, next to listing.

NOTE for folks moving store inventory to FP 30-days for 35-cents:

You should be aware that your listings will NOT get the same exposure
in search as do the 7 and 10 day listings. They may appear several pages
back and stay there for a LONG time.

    ..................................

I have been selling stuff with the new 30-day scheme, but make sure
you understand that it is NOT the same search scheme as 7 and 10.

In crowded cats, your listing may NEVER make it to the first page.

Anybody having glitch trouble on EBAY, should take a break
    and play "EBAY Land."
