If so is it because you like them or have too much in them?
And I ain't lying this time.

    Yes, still.

Neither. I still have them because I haven't needed to sell them.

My guess is they'll remain the Kings of the unc-w. How about 2004 proofs? They may be in danger...the market seems to think so too. The price has been steadily dropping; down about 50% in the last few months.

Still got my Mint Sealed Set; sold a few and kept one. We will see as I am surprised the 2008's are moving so quickly but you can't underestimate the power of cheap Platinum, huh.

  • I still have my 1/2 oz even though I am not collecting the W's. With only around 500 singles sold I figured I'll hold onto it.

sorry to get OT, but I sure wish I didn't buy the 2004 $50 proof when it was at its peak.
Just bought 1 of the 2008 w and 2 08 proof $50's because I think the mintage will be small and platinum dropped so much

Ditto here on the 2004...oh well, we won some of em thanks to the Mint!

  • I kept the $50 2006 and 2007-W's, as that is my favorite denom of the series. Other than that all sizes were sold a while back before plat fell. The 2006 was bought from the mint, but I bought the 2007 at the $1750/once level off of eBay. I guess it's a good thing I bought them for my collection, otherwise I'd have to sit on them awhile to get my $$ back out.

I also bought a nice 2005 $50 proof at the peak. Maybe my great grandchildren (only 31 now) will one day be able to sell it for what I paid.
  • I have a 2006W PCGS 70DECAM half ounce plat. I tryed to sell it many times but with offers BELOW bullion melt I just tossed it in the safe and there it sits collecting dust!
