a lovely design!

I don't dabble in these per se, but I thought for $10, why not? A beautiful design!

  • Very lovely!
I like it very much. Is that the true color or is it just the photo?

I only have a few from Nova Scotia and none are like tone.

as far as the color goes, i dunno. These are the seller's pics, and i'm not risking much so i figured i'd chance it.

  • Bet you will find it will be a great chocalate brown. Not dark dark but brown. The ones I have and they look great.

For $10 I think you did great!

I agree. Maritime bronzes in general are very cool. I like the designs for Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI.

Here is my one and only example:

Nice pickup! 1861 Nova Scotia large cent, large bud variety, EF condition, value = C$22

The large bud variety refers to the rose bud next to the A of SCOTIA.

It could use a bath in EVOO and a very gentle cotton swab massage to remove the "critters" around the legend.

Wow Fritz, those are some amazing examples. I love that 1/2 cent.

Anyone have a nice PEI cent to show off? I'm still looking for a nice one. Preferably from 1871. image
