Lincoln Cent Matte Proof Book

Hello, All:
As I am a co-publisher of Kevin's new MPL diagnostic book, and in charge of handling the sale of 500 Soft cover editions at $29.95, please PM me or email me (email preferred) if you want one or more soft cover copies of the book. I think they will make great holiday gifts, if you know collectors who have an interest in MPLs. But aside from that, they are the finest diagnostic book written since the Albrecht text. This book has much more information in Albrecht, and when I order my copy of the Albrecht text on EBay, I think it costs me between $10.00-15.00. For the amount of information given in the new Kevin Flynn book, compared to some of the diagnostic books or pamphlets presently available, I am of the opinion that it is a great book, fair price, and a must for any Lincoln Cent collector library. This is a remarkable book, and will assist the MPL Posse in doing its job!!
For marketing purposes to my fellow collectors, my goal is two-fold:
1) to get a good idea as to how many people want copies of the soft cover book, and how many books they want;
2) To get payment of the book ASAP, so as to defer my out-of-pocket costs.
For communication purposes, my email address is duane.blake@comcast.net. If it is acceptable, checks are the easiest way for me to take payment (I'm not set up for credit cards, PayPal, etc.).
Please email me your address for mailing the book, and I will re-send you my address for sending payment. Telephone number would also be helpful. The books will most likely be distributed in January, 2009. Any early payment that you can send to me would be appreciated, as this is a large amount for me to put out-of-pocket, and the payments help us to decide how many copies we really need to order. We don't want to be caught with too few copies for everyone.
Your addresses will remain confidential with me, and never given out, or used for any other purpose outside of this book.
The cost of the book is (again) $29.95, plus the cost of shipping. Please direct me as to how you would like the book shipped, and include that payment in with the payment. I will hold all checks until the books are literally published, and then deposit the checks in a special account earmarked for the books only, to simplify accounting (this deposit will be sometime between now and January).
Many thanks,
Duane Blake

Normally I would email or PM you these comments, but since the publicity and initial selling of the new Matte proof book is being done via this forum, I wanted to alert you that in the other thread that Kevin started, he said the early ordering price of the softcover edition would be $22.95 instead of $29.95. I would suggest you and Kevin get ALL the pricing data set, INCLUDING postage and handling and THEN let everyone here know what the cost will be for softcover, hardcover and leather. Thanks,
Steve

No offense intended, but your post is somewhat misleading.
What Kevin Flynn exactly wrote is as follows:
"We are shooting for the following retail prices on the book will be
Softcover $29.95
Hardcover $90.00 (only printing around 50)
Leather $300.00 (only pre-orders, this is done as some people like to collect special editions of books)
Pre-orders would probably be
Softcover $22.95
Hardcover $75.00
We will start preorders only when we are positive we are going to print.
Thanks for all your help
Kevin"
So, Kevin publically said that we were shooting for $29.95 for the the soft covers, as I have also stated (he also gave you the costs of the hard-cover and leather covers).
He further stated that the cost of $22.95 for a soft cover as a "probable" cost for the pre-order. I can live with the $22.95 for the pre-orders (should Kevin agree) , but it was not fixed; it was probable. A pre-order means that the buyer sends a check, and that check is deposited and clears (to be clearer).
As you can guess, the postage will vary depending on how a buyer wants the book shipped, and by which carrier. First Class "snail mail" through the U.S. Postal service is going to be a lot less expensive then an overnight through FEDEX.
Ambro, to answer your question, the book is going to going to be between 50-100 pages, depending what we choose to leave in and out. We are going through the editing of the book right now. The photos are both in color and black and white, depending on there intended function.
Hope that is helpful.
