The Heismann is Harrell's to Lose Now

Blowing up for 475 yards against the longhorns definitely moved him into the #1 spot tonight, and looking at his projections, on pace for 4700 yards, 42 TDs and just 8 INTs. On the biggest stage of his college career he was effective as ever and Colt McCoy, who going into this game was the favorite, faltered and it cost his team the game. His completion percentage was way off what he's been doing all season as well.

Anyone else even in this discussion at this point?

I predict he'll be MVP of the Alltel Wireless Bowl.

    Chad will present the trophy.

    Happy, happy.

    Joy, joy.

Harrell will lose it as soon as Texas Tech loses, which will happen in one of their next 2 games...and I tend to think it'll be this week vs. OK State.

When Tebow leads Florida into the National Championship game, the honor is his...again.

Ugh, Tebow, ESPN's poster child for college football. And you think Florida is going to play for the national title game? I think TT, Alabama, PSA, and USC all are more legitimate choices to be in the title game than Florida, playing in a watered down SEC this year.

Penn State plays in a worse conference than SEC
USC plays in a worse conference than the Big 10
Alabama plays in the same SEC

If Florida runs the table (and they should) and beats an undefeated Alabama in the SEC title game, they have as good an argument as anyone. Unfortunately with their schedules, Penn State and Texas don't look like they are going to lose again, so that may squeeze Florida out.

With all the goodwill stuff Tebow is involved in off the field, I don't blame ESPN for making him their poster child.
