Federal Half Dimes 1792-1837 by Russell Logan and John McCloskey. It's out of print, but copies crop up fairly often.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

also, sign yourself up for the John Reich Collectors Society at www.jrcs.org (LINKED). I collect capped bust half dimes by die marriage too. If you have questions, feel free to send me a PM (private message). It's a great challenge!

After you've gotten the new testament bible and signed up with JRCS go ahead and get yourself of the original half dime old testament bible, the Valentine work. image

You can put me in the boat of the marriage, re-marriage collectors as well. All half dime questions welcome at anytime. Feel free to ask.

take note too that some of the rarity ratings in the book are outdated, but not by too much, AND there is now an 1835 LM-12 (recently discovered) die marriage that the book does not address.

I also suggest you join the John Reich Society. The Journal is worth more than the membership dues.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

    Join here
  • After buying the book and joining JRCS (moves that will more than pay for themselves in the long run), you could do a lot worse than posting questions to the Forum. There are some seriously dedicated CBHD collectors here who also happen to be great guys with an attitude of helpfulness toward new collectors.
