OK, so it's another eBay thread.
Buyer asked me if I would ship to Canada and if so, how much extra for shipping.
My response:
<< <i>Please add $2 to total shipping cost and thank you for your interest. >>
His response:
<< <i>oh well thanks for the response but it only costs 1.66 for shipping to Canada in a regular bubble envelope..take care >>
Good night Canada.

<< <i>So by adding the additional $2 to your shipping prices what does it bring the grand total too? >>
Brings it to a grand total of $2. Shipping was free.

Some of the most generous and free-spending folks I know personally are Candians. (They are not customers,
but pals.)
Judging any group of folks by some of the SCUM that EBAY allows to use EBAY likely leads to hasty generalizations.
I only ship to US buyers on EBAY, because of PayPal; not because I don't like foreign nationals.
Out him, I haven't added anybody to my BBL in a couple of days, feel the urge!!!

It is really sad to say the least.
I have had to change my Ebay selling practices with paypal when I sell to anyone in the United States (and I only now sell to the US and Canada).
I use to charge 3.00 for shipping for a baseball card. Now I am being forced to charge 3.00 plus a required 7.95 insurance for any auction selling over $50.00. But it is the ONLY way I can send a single card from Canada to the US with tracking and insurance. needless to say I know that I am losing US buyers and as a result I am selling less and less.

Has perfect feedback as a buyer and seller. Odd he would get so pizzy about $0.34.

Very odd...
I am often quoted $4.00 to $5.00 shipping to Canada from the US and will pay it with out a second glance to get a card I am looking for.

I am certain that I lose more in sales by not shipping international than
most folks MAKE on EBAY.
Recently, not a day has passed that I don't get requests from foreigners.
I turn them all down.
The only shipping that PP will accept is EXPRESS. This costs just under $30.00.
I cannot, except in rare circumstances, collect/absorb that cost.
Also, the DSRs get killed because of "slow shipping."
Also, some - not all - foreign buyers want their customs docs marked as "gifts."
Such a declaration conflicts with the invoices/packing-slips that are in the
parcels; I also worry that the insurance could be voided for false declarations.
Canadians that I sold to years ago, continue to send MOs or credit-card numbers
after they call or email. I just don't sell to them on EBAY.

Too bad a few rotten apples always have to go and spoil the bunch. I loved the days of buyer bids/I ship/they receive with no tracking/feedback left/everyone happy

<< <i>Canadians have floppy heads! >>
Yup, with thier flapping heads and beady little eyes... they think they're so smart.
Seriously though, I just sent a MO to the US yesterday for an ebay item.
I'm worried, but I've done it few hundred times and no problems, knock on wood.

Storm, that's to bad. I think lots of collectors would pay the $30 if given the option. Depending on the card.
I mean a collector with over 500 feedbacks and no negs left for sellers should get some consideration, no?
Makes me wonder if you have ever declined a request from me personally.

My declination email says:
"We regret that we are unable to ship internationally, at this time."
Nothing mean and nothing bashing EvilBAY or PreyPal.
...........
The least expensive collectible I have sent to Canada was $78.00.
The buyer wanted the postcard, and paid $29.80 for EXPRESS.
(To a friend - existing customer - the same item could have been
sent for 75% less. Can't do it with PayPal to strangers, though.)
I sell VERY few collectibles. 99%+ of what I sell is either designer
fashion, used-electronics, CHEAP used-clothing. Some of the fashion
items would suit themselves to the high-shipping costs, but none
of the other stuff would.

The scene when Dan Akriod polls over Candy and makes him write the truck graphitti in French to match the Enlgish "as here in Canada we have 2 official languages" is one of my favourite movie moments ever.

Just a quick question.....
If you were willing to ship it free to the US, then why would you make him pay for shipping when it is only $1.66? Am I missing something?

Because Canadiens have floppy heads. Actually I have no reasonable answer for that.
