    struck Off-Center

Maybe astrorat will chime in on this one as an O/C Double Dime could be a LONG wait! image

Broadstruck, I didn't expect this WTB to come to my doorstep overnight, and it hasn't.
I know that it will take some time, and when that time comes I will hopefully be the recipient.

Oh, and if you do read this astrorat, and can help me out in locating one, that would be most appreciative.
  • I have never seen a twenty cent piece with a cud or one that was struck off center.
Good luck on your quest to find one.
I have always thought that there may be an 1875 or 1875-S Seated Quarter struck on a twenty cent planchet, however I have never seen one nor heard of one being found.

    I may have located a 20c piece with a slight CUD. I'm still looking for a 20c O/C
Would the thicker line between the denticles at 8 o'clock be considered a CUD or just part of the Die Crack? (my assumption is die crack)

I'm sure this request will take a while to fill.

With that in mind, I'm probably going to just TTT this twice a week to keep the clutter of the BST down to a minimum. image

    Hey Stone-

Sorry I missed your request..but broadstruck told me about your post. I have only seen one O/C twenty-cent piece in hand...and I bought it (although it is easy to argue it is a broadstruck piece instead). I have only seen two pieces in catalogs (one auction and one FPL) which I ran across accidentally. The auction house I do not remember although the piece was a 40-50% O/C 75-S in high grade. The FPL piece, if memory serves, was in one of Fred Weinberg's old FPLs.

Best of luck to you and if you do find one, please let me know by pm or at lbrunner@regis.edu.

And a piece with a cud will be just about as hard. I think the updated Cud Book may actually list one, but I am not sure. I have never seen one in hand.

P.S. I'm not expecting to find one of these right away, just tossing out the idea in hopes that others can help locate one for me image
