Looking to trade for, or purchase, raw or graded vintage for my baseball sets: 1927 York Caramel, 1951 Bowman, 1957 Topps, 1967-1979. http://richsbaseball.webs.com
First one which I don't believe has been mentioned.
Jorge (maybe in sticking with names that start with J you picked this version of the name George) Joseph (very common name and figured why not, it is my middle name) James (or Jason...... Grrr guessing not both so I will go with James since it is more common than Jason and maybe a Catholic background so James would be the more likely choice, I believe one of these two is the name of one of your sons, if not this is more of a longshot than the Cubbies chances of winning another World Series.) Jonah (there is a bunch of names that it can not be based on picks so far and I don't believe this one is eliminated by my other choices
Need another clue, if spelling doesn't exactly matter with say Jayson or Jason being the same, with the clues you have given there are roughly 50 different names that it could be out of, if spelling exactly matters closer to 250 names.
Also I don't believe you have ever given out your first name on these boards, do you share the name with one of your sons?

Yeah, I'm horrible at it too. I think the prizes were structured appropriately for the difficult in coming up with those four names. If someone actually did those four, they deserved the Clemente! Great contest Poppa!!

Great advice PoppaJ. Your story really hits close to home for all of us with kids. Thanks so much for the generous contest and sharing your story with us. Your sons are lucky to have a great father figure.

Thanks Brian,
Sorry you didn't win, but maybe you'll have more luck with my next contest!
I might have to dip into the ol' MANTLE barrel for my 2000th post contest!
Have a great weekend,

You too PoppaJ. I was figuring you went with vintage baseball names so I stuck with them.
We've all seen lots of your killer collectibles...How bout a pic of you and your boys back when they were just kids??

Brian,
A year or so after my wife passed, my son Jared had all of our memories (photos) put on DVDs. He gave each of our family members a copy for Christmas. We watched it from start to finish, crying our eyes out the whole time. It was beautiful and sad at the same time. I'm not sure who has the original photos that were used. Jared might have them with him in Newport Richey, Florida. If I can retrieve a couple, I'll be sure to post them.
Congrats to the winners and PoppaJ on a great contest.
PoppaJ....I wish you hadn't allowed editing of guesses. After I saw that it was permitted I changed two of mine.....that's right I took out Jared, a nephew's name, and Justin, the name my daughter would have been if she was a boy, and inserted two others. Lesson learned...always go with your first instincts.

Charles,
You're not the only one that edited for the worst ... 3 others did too.
I sure didn't plan for it to happen that way. I was trying to be obliging to the requests that guys were making.
"Always go with your first instincts" IS the way to go it seems.
Sorry you didn't win, but there will be more contests for you to exercise your first instincts
Have a great weekend and thanks again for taking part in my contest.
