Can you snipe at Teletrade + other questions

Can you use a sniper service to snipe at Tele Trade? How do you bid at Tele Trade? I am looking at a coin i would like to add to my collection in the Nov. 3rd auction. I am going to be in transit at the time the auction closes. I will either be getting off a boat or on a plane and not have a chance to bid live. I would place a bid today on the coin, but if i do that the seller of the coin can drive my price up?? Should i place 2 bids, one today or a few days from now with a bid of less than i am willing to pay and then try to find access to a computer the day of the auction and raise my bid or??? I do not mind overpaying a little on this coin but i do not what to just hand the money over on a silver platter. How would you handle bidding in this case? Or do i not understand how teletrade works? It just always seems to me that i always have paidmy max bid on every coin i have ever won on teletrade regualdless of the actual value of the coin. I sometimes think the owner of the coins gets to see my max bid number and runs it to that point.image

Bidding on Teletrade is no different that eBay, Heritage, or a number of auction sites. You sign up and go for it.

Furthermore, when I see a coin I really want, I'll put in a "healthy" bid and have always won the item for a price below my max bid during the times that I've actually one the item. Sometimes, I've had to pay more than I thought the coin should have sold for, but I've also won some items at surprisingly low prices. Teletrade is not manipulating your bid.

As far as sniping, Teletrade does not show a "count down" the way other sites do so you have to kind of guess how many seconds you have until the auction is over. I always snipe and personally believe that using a sniper service defeats the fun. But I've also missed judged the time the auction was to end.

TT is a manual snipe only, as far as I know.

They end at 9:01 PM central and 10:01 PM eastern; your time may vary. If you are running Windows XP double click on the time in the lower right corner. This expands the clock. Choose internet time and set to automaticlly sync with internet time. I keep this clock on top and wait to hit the confirm bid with about 10 seconds left.

With all do respect, how do you know that exactly?
