Post a picture of an UNDER graded coin in a holder

VetterVetter Posts: 912 ✭✭✭✭✭
We have all seen over graded coins in TPG holders, now lets see some UNDER graded ones. I'll start.

1918-D Buffalo Nickel PCGS F15.....no I'm not going to crack it out and resubmit it.
Easily a VF coin!

the 1830 LM-10 die marriage is well known for a very weak reverse strike, especially in the area seen here (talons/olive branch). The coin is fully lustrous. PCGS AU-55.

This is in a PCGS Rattler AU 50. When I showed it to a few people with the grade covered up, they all thought it was MS.

  • Bought this from a forum member and even though these are his pics, they still don't do justice to this NGC 64 coin.

Wow, and I was pissed thinking mine was off by one point. Some of you seem to have been outright robbed. Or outright robbed someone else if you bought the coins for money the grades on the holders dictate.

PCGS VG10 (methinks it's an F12 by Photograde standards):

PutTogether, that 28 Peace dollar is gorgeous, but the weak strike keeps it in a 64 holder.

Likely that everyone who posted a picture thinks only THEIR coin is undergraded...

  • This is in a PCGS MS64 slab. It should be in at least a MS65 slab:

Its in a NGC 65 Holder. IMO it should at least be in a 66.

It's hard to say a coin is undergraded when you have not seen it in person.

Looking through this thread, I see a lot of coins that appear undergraded based on the details, apparent luster, etc. but may have been net graded lower from old cleanings, hard-to-see hairlines, etc.

Maybe I'm being a "homer" but IMO this 65 of mine should have gone 66...

Broadstruck: I hate those '84S Morgans - I have one in a PCGS 55 holder that I will have to picture sometime. As I have no photo capability mine is 62 I would think....

Both I and the board member I got this from thought its undergraded in a PCGS MS64 Holder,
no hits like a 65 or 66 should be , but I guess the strike?...kinda just getting back into the series...............
didnt get it for the grade tho.......image

This was in an NGC VF-25 holder and it is now at Pcgs to see if it was really undergraded.I think it should go 30/35.

One reason you don't find many undergraded coins in ANACS holders is because they don't stay in ANACS holders.

I think only a couple look under graded. Most of the mint state examples shown have cleaning/luster problems- you can't just count the hits you have to see the whole picture...........

Every TPG coin I own is under graded image

    Especially the 70's
