Jack, sometimes these "oh my god, look at this eBay auction" threads are fun, but it's getting a little old. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just had to say it.
No problem. I'll happily "lay off." I think part of it, for me, is to alert people to what appears to be suspect auctions.

I agree with both guys. Jack maybe you could modify the thread title, and just keep one official thread going for ebay wild and crazy auctions, and scammer auctions.
Man I was just going to start a thread on this card, but you beat me to it. It's definitely a tampered case.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

I also concur.
P.S. Mike is a jerk he just wasn't trying to be with that statement.
Can I vote the other way? Jack, these threads aren't getting old at all.
It's good to get a sense of what is going on with the slabbing of very high end/high profile cards and it's informative to read people's reactions here when something about those cards/slabs is suspect.
No one said these threads weren't informative and even fun to read. All we are saying is that we do not need 10 different threads every day for 10 different eBay auctions.
Dear Mr. JackWESQ: My day is ruined since I have opened this thread. I will be retaining counsel to help make me whole for the emotional damage I suffered. I can't believe you would be so hurtful and mean to start a thread highlighting an Ebay auction with a PSA card that appears to be of questionably provence. It's not like this is a message board to discuss PSA graded cards. My day is ruined and my life is ruined. You will hear from my counsel!
collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.

without a better scan or pic its hard to say.Grading cards from lowsy pics is not really fair. The only way to make a fair analysis would be to have the card in hand for inspection.Just my 2 cents.

You need a better pic to judge the centering on the card in question?
Maybe some would disagree but I've always believed it's important to relay information such as scammers cracking open the slabs and putting in lesser grade cards. Not only is it all about helping our fellow card collectors, but it makes our collections more valuable because buyers aren't wasting their money buying from scammers and getting disillusioned about the hobby...when they're buying they're hopefully buying from us...reputable ebay sellers, and in theory will have more money and interest to spend on collecting cards.
So threads like this are a win-win for us and a lose-lose for scammers...and that's a good thing.

Jack,
.... in my opinion wasn't necessary. Say it with conviction "DEFINITELY NOT A PSA 10!"
plus, the black dot on the back of the card (border) really adds a lot of beauty to this 9th Wonder of the World

I just noticed that Barry. I would lean toward that theory myself.
A blind guy wouldn't have put a 10 on that card.

IMO, the top looks like it has a shadow, and the bottom looks over illuminated from the scanner.
