Come on, how many times and to how many threads are you going to post either pictures of that coin, or links to it on eBay where you currently have it up for auction.

Spam masquerading as a legitimate post is very, very lame.

Agreed, spam is lame. Spam on the sly is really lame.

i have a question about spam since you guys seemed so quick to jump on this member about posting a picture of a coin he owns which is evidentally for sale-----------------we recently had a member post about a coin he made and also a link to pictures from the site where it was being auctioned plus the auction date/information. my question; why didn't anyone tell that member that what he was doing was spam??

Why didn't anyone? No idea. Why didn't I? Can't catch 'em all. image

Trying to give an honest answer. I jumped on this post because before it was edited all it contained was a link to the OP's auction, and because he made a similar drive-by picture post on one of my threads last week, which I linked above.

I didn't jump on the pop-2 quarter thread because all the OP did was post that he'd made it. Go back and read it, it was a different poster who first mentioned Teletrade, and then a third who posted the TT pics to the thread. Nobody posted a link to the auction itself until a fourth person did on the 4th page of the thread and honestly, I almost replied to that one with a spam warning except I didn't feel like starting an argument about it.

So self-appointed Forum cop that I am, I thought that a "Hey check out this coin" post with no mention of an impending auction was okay, while a "hey check out this coin" post where the only way to check out the coin was to click on the OP's auction link was not. Having said all that, I think I'll turn in my badge and let other people or the mods worry about it from now on.

If I wanted to spam the boards it would not be for an $8 coin.

But hey some good did come out of this. I am getting $100 for a POS if Seanq honors his word

Yes, I am extending a full return plus return shipping on a coin you purchased almost exactly a year ago, and for which you named your own price with no haggling from me. Apparently my admonishment earlier in this thread opened up a festering wound, as you were reminded of this horrible piece of numismatic detrius, which had sat festering in your holdings for over a year, slowly rotting your appreciation of your assemblage of coins like a horrible worm-ridden apple in a barrel overflowing with the fall's harvest. No longer will you have to avert your eyes every time you gaze upon this scourge of your collection, nor be reminded of me and the terrible insult which I made in admonishing you for your total disregard for Forum rules and decorum.

Hopefully, pistols at dawn will now not be necessary. image
