What would this 1859 dp#2 grade?

Is this even worth the trouble to slab? It does not look very nice and I am seeing that there is no premium for this variety. I would appreciate any opinions. -Dan

I can not answer your direct question but will say I like the coin.

I only collect, have never had a coin "slabbed", or bought a coin even thinking about future value.
Not saying that is wise but that is just my way. Of course most of my collection is low or at best middle grade but i like em

If there is no premium for this variety, I'm guessing it's only worth a few dollars, and ergo not worth the cost of slabbing, unless you need the particular variety in a slab. As to grade, maybe XF by US standards, lower by Can grading standards, IMO.

Definately a premium for this variety. I say VF, envirnomental issues. About a $90-100 coin IMO.

Looks EF to me but needs a long bath in EVOO (extra virgin olive oil). Value as is C$150-175, w/out the stuff about C$275.

Thanks. I am not interested in cleaning this. I will leave it to someone who knows what they are doing. -Dan
