Would you pay more than $50 for this 1819/8 1c?

It looks to be an XF but......

it's corroded, dinged and bent!! (edited to add 'pitted' also to the list).

definitely an 1819/8 variety, but what would you pay for it?

I wouldn't buy it. I want nice coins for my collection, and buying a $50 cull instead of waiting for a problem-free XF example that would cost ca. 10x more is not good collecting strategy IMHO.

You'll be happier in the long run if you avoid problem coins.

I would pass on the coin. Problem coins are hard to sell - and for me, they keep me awake at night. Hell, I've got some NGC cents that wouldn't cross to PCGS plastic at the current grades and I can barely sleep knowing they're not good enough for PCGS.

If you really like it and you can afford $50 for something that will be tough to sell, go for it. But you gotta like it at the price.
