Hank Aaron awards don't always translate into MVP awards though. Only 6 out of the previous 18 Hank Aaron Awards went to a guys who went on to win the MVP award in the same year.
I have purposely laid off of posting about Pujols and his awards this year because every time someone does, they get hammered. However, I would like to respond to this.
Aramis Ramirez won the Hank Aaron award which goes to the best offensive performer. It is voted on partially (if not mostly) by the fans. I have not seen so much as one post on how many awards Pujols has ALREADY won this year alone.
He has won the following:
The Sporting News Player of the Year. The NL Most Outstanding Player (Voted on by the Players) The MLB Player of the Year (Voted on by the Players) The Roberto Clemente Award (this award combines on field skill and service off the field).
A. Pujols (Cards): .357 BA, .462 OBP, .653 Slng%, 37 HR, 116 RBI -better in all categories R. Ludwick (Cards): .299 BA, .375 OBP, .591 Slng%, 37 HR, 113 RBI -better in all but OBP L. Berkman (Astros): .312 BA, .420 OBP, .567 Slgng%, 29 HR, 106 RBI- better in all but RBIs
That shows that at least 3 players deserve the award more than Aramis Ramirez.
Now, lets compare Pujols to Ramirez head to head in each category.
I really wish they would take the vote for any award away from the "fans". And I will go ahead and include the All-Star game voting in this. The average fan is too uneducated beyond their favorite team to be allowed to vote.

#LetsGoSwitzerlandThe Man Who Does Not Read Has No Advantage Over the Man Who Cannot Read. The biggest obstacle to progress is a habit of “buying what we want and begging for what we need.”You get the Freedom you fight for and get the Oppression you deserve.
The Cubs fans have spoken... now live with the results of this meaningless award! I think Ramirez would give the award back if could mean the Cubs could win just 1 playoff game.

Let the fans have their award. Besides, it's the MVP award, not the HAA, that everyone remembers.
<< <i>Even though I realize that Pujols got screwed out of the Hank Aaron Award, I will sit patiently waiting for his MVP award to come in November. >>
Although I hope you are right and believe he is the most diserving, I think you are dreaming if you think he will win it. But I hope I'm wrong.

I thought the Hank Aaron Award was supposed to go to the best hitter in each league. Obviously not. It's just a popularity contest.
Ramirez .289-27-111-97-2
Pujols .357-37-116-100-7
I like Ramirez. I think he's very underrated. But COME ON NOW!
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

No dreaming here..
Who's more deserving? No one has his stats. .357, 37 homeruns, 116 RBI, .653 slug %, .462 on base %, 100 runs scored, 100+ walks, 44 doubles. It's not even close.

Though Ramirez leads Pujols in "Postseason Games Played", Pujols stands far above Ramirez in just about every meanignful batting statistic.

This post is to destroy the notion that the Hank Aaron Award has ANY credibility.

That shows that at least 3 players deserve the award more than Aramis Ramirez.
