I wouldn't bother. Just write '07 Masterpiece on the sub form and send them in. I know from personal experience that you can completely mislabel a card on the sub form and PSA will still research it to find out what it is. You're paying them $6 per, so let them do the work.
  • I would definitely listen to poobotts. He knows everyhting.

Actually, I just looked around and discovered that I'm planning on sending in a handful of these as well. I don't know anything about them, aside from the fact that the ones I have are black bordered. Is this some kind of parallel? Anyway, they go to Newport beach later this week, and hopefully I'll get them back by the first of December. Who knows? We'll see what happens.

Boopotts- Thanks but I would still like to have them right on my sub. and to know the differents in the
future. I have sent in sub. before and they labeled cards wrong that I filled out right so I won't bank
on them doing the research for me and getting it right.

    Anyone else?

    Thanks James
  • This has nothing to do with 07 Masterpiece but I sent in 3 different variations of the 89 Fleer Randy Johnson rookie whcih PSA previously did not recognize and they slabbed them the way I listed them on the sub form.

Hey this is the Frank Thomas collector with the number 1 PSA Thomas registry I think...hello fellow big hurt collector. I don't participate in the registry.

    James,

I rarely pick any cards up that are newer than 1998. I focus on 1993 and earlier, with attention to various cards I liked in my childhood. I'm working on a website currently (www.BigHurtHOF.com) to show the details of my collection and a timeline of Frank's career...I have a lot of rare items that will be showcased, many I doubt have been seen previously. Beyond that I collect oddball items to present day.

Currently I'm looking for PSA 10 copies of the 1987 Auburn issue (doesn't exist as of yet) and PSA 10 copies of '87 Pan Am Blue and 1990 Coke SGA.

I don't typically go for game used cards or sticker autographs either. I only own a handful of cards number out of less than 100. I will pick up the ones that catch my eye though. If I buy game used, I want it to be the whole item, not a piece of it. Unfortunately, I've been the underbidder on the last few home run bats that have surfaced.

You have quite a collection, very nice effort on your behalf. What items are you looking for currently?

    Thanks,

    Ross,
I mostly looking for 1/1's, autographs-game used cards that are neat looking serial number cards
with his jersey number on it. Also like Stadium Club First Day Issue cards, 1996 Leaf Greast Hits cards,
try to fine some nice 1999 Finest Refractors to grade and fill some holes, and the cards you listed.
Like going to the card shows here know one cares Thomas cards so it fun to hunt for the them. Any good
    show were your at?

    James,

I'm a 1st Day Issue fan myself...I only have handful, with a lot of doubles, but I enjoy them as they really wowed me as a child. I'm missing a few though. I also have an affinity for Artists Proofs and Press Proofs, as well as various refractors. There is one particular game used card I've always wanted and never seen in person or found online...I think it’s 2001 Leaf Rookies and Stars Slideshow, has a sliding panel of jersey. Very neat card. Other than that, I'd like a complete run of the 1997 Leaf Thomas Collection. I'm really into college and minor league issue items too, and earlier when available. The memorabilia chronicling the formative years I guess. Other than that I like scarce items that don't tell you they're scarce. I do have a small 1 of 1 project I'm working on, but I really have a hard time sinking money into too many of them.

Overall, I'd like a complete run of game used bats. One of every style Big Frank has been known to use. I think I have just as much fun tracking down people who saw him play and can tell stories of his performance (and provide pictures when I'm lucky), as I do collecting his cards and memorabilia.

edit to add: I'm in Houston, there is a Bi-Annual Tri-Star show here, but haven't made it to one yet as I just moved here this year. I'm sure it will be somewhat useful though.

    Mike,

I don't need that particular card, but thanks for posting. It's a neat set.
