I wonder if this is a true auction?

The picture may be hijacked because this half looks like an ms66!!

No way I'm placing a bid on this. (I think there's only 4 hours left).

    Looks like it might have been cleaned at one point, and looks to me like it's about an AU53.

    I don't know that much about bust coinage, but it just looks too good to be true.

    Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image

    I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

    A coin that is worth over $500.00 is a coin worth holdering. Bust coinage is not scarce in AU and with as many that are available, why would you ever go raw? I did it once, paying a premium for two really nice looking bust halves, and both coins came back in a body bag. The seller was happy to sell his raw coins at full retail and I was dumb enough to take the bait and pay the consequences.

    Live and learn. If it is bust coinage and in an AU grade and NOT holdered, and if you aren't looking at the coin in person, you are getting worse odds than at a slot machine in Vegas.
