Should I be worried

Whats up all? I am selling a few cards on eBay right know and I got a message from a person with zero feedback asking me about my return policy. I didn't put a return policy in on the auction, but the auction is for a graded card. I wouldn't have a problem with refunding a bid minus shipping if the bidder wasn't happy with the card, but this was kinda strange comming from a person with 0 feedback that joined eBay in 07. What should I do? Should I respond or should I block him? I don't expect to get very much for the card, maybe 5 dollars at most. Any insight would be helpful and I thank you in advance.

You should do what makes you comfortable.

I never respond to such inquiries and I block the "buyer."

But, my return policy is stated in the listings.

    ..............

If someone is going to anticipate problems before they become
a customer, I would rather they buy from somebody else.

    ........

EBAY is really not set-up to be an economical "approval service,"
    from a seller's position.

I thought 5,000 spaces was enough; now, I dunno.

  • Tell him no returns on graded cards, then add it to the description.

No need to block him if the info wasn't available, IMO.

If you're worried about his feedback, fine. But it's a legit question, maybe he won't even bid with no refund option.

For the value of the cards in question, I wouldn't bother wasting time worrying about it. If the buyer wants to return the cards, they can and will regardless of any return policy. Stating "no returns" in your listing is meaningless anyway, since Paypal will side with the buyer if he files a chargeback and instruct him to return for a refund anyway. Since this is a new buyer, he might just be nervous about ebay in general. Most of the times you hear about a buyer screwing a sellerm it is NOT from a zero feedbacker.

I can understand Storm888 apprehension in this case since he had customers returning items that were switched.

This is a very legit question though. A buyer needs to know the return policy, the shipping, the insurance and the flaws of an item on ebay. Although there is not much to say about a graded card, the buyer must be just nervous about ebay and this email is just to get a sense of who you are.

Tell him your return policy as you did to us and make sure he can see both front and back of the card. The only problem areas with graded cards is if the holder is scratched and then not reported on the auction description, or the pictures are not there in order for the buyer to see the centering and print marks. Just because something is PSA 9, does not mean the centering is obvious as it does vary even at that high of a grade.

I'd simply answer his question. I'd say whatever my policy was.
