Numismatic books at Borders - There are some!

I was at Borders today and remembered Longacre's thread about numismatic authors and big publishers. I looked around and found 2 coin books. One was "The Official Guidebook to America's State Quarters" by David L. Ganz. The other was a folder for Presidential dollars. While I was looking a customer actually picked up the quarter book and examined it! I didn't even check the magazine section to see if anything was there... I guess there is a bigger market for some coin books than I imagined.

  • My girlfriend is a Borders manager, so I'm always browsing the numismatic books at her store. A nice one is the Red Book 1947 first issue reprint. I also saw a great book on paper currency, a Top 100 pieces thing, IIRC. Right now they have the Cherrypicker's guide.

you should goto a library and view their book offerings on numismatics.

    very depressing.

usually one world coin book, a couple of redbooks, maybe one on gold (investing) and a few more odds and ends.. and that is it.

    sad.
