Using the current news as a source of information on gold buying is silly.

Indian consumers shying away from gold one day...

A few days later it is a gold rush!?!

It is this type of news that contradicts itself on a daily basis which
boggles my mind as i read about PMs.

disturbing to say the least when trying to figure out what is going
on. We might as well wait till April to get a feel for things and the
near future.

The Kitco web page headlines typically change their tune daily, if not hourly. In the morning the world is bailing out of gold and prices are at 17 year lows. In the afternoon the headline is "people flocking to gold on falling US dollar." It does drive you nuts.

I do find some of the articles by guest analysts (no, not Nadler!) to be quite interesting though (Willie, Saville, Laird, Droke, Degraaf, Maund, Field, Wiegand, etc.).

Yes you need to pay attention to each sources track record, this isn't unlike all the Wallstreet bussiness shows on TV. Some good, some bad, some just out of touch.
