1857 FE doubling question.

I've recently purchased an 1857 FE cent. The obverse exhibits strong doubling of 'United States of America', right edge of the eagle (wing to tail to claw) and very strong doubling of the the date.

I went on Rick Snow's website and looked at his 1857 'double die' and it seemed that the double die exhibited strong doubling at the eagle's eye and mount. My coin doesn't have this.

Any thoughts if mine is still a 'double die obverse' variety.

Pictures hopefully will follow (although my lousy macro lens probably won't show much clarity).

Picture's are the only way to go on this one as what you are describing sounds very much like machine doubling which can be found on any US Coin.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
