I seem to recall some years ago that the mint had gone through there own stockpile of silver left over from pulling silver from circulation in the 60's, does anyone know when they ran out and had to go to the opem market to buy new supplies. If not does the mint (or Treasury) publish any information on the reserves they may have in their stockpile?
I know they always went to the open market for platinum, and only bought gold mined in the U.S. for the eagle program.
