Stone, it was cool meeting you and a few of my other online friends today, a good day, slow but steady.

You can get them on ebay for $100 for the unc lows and about $150 for the unc highs. After almost 5 years of being out, these coins have beeen a dissappointment as far I'm concerned. I think the Presidential dolllar errors/varieties held prices down. Personally, I would have bought alot more leafs if it wasn't for the presidential errors and I bet alot more people would have also and therefore the prices probably would have been much better than they are. The problem with these was the naysayers who claimed die gouge and i think that steered half of the potential collectors away for this coin, so this kept prices lower than they could have been. I think about 40,000 to 50,000 is what is estimated to be out there for the high and low leafs. Personally, I'm putting my extra money into John Adams Smooth edges because of mintages estimated to be under 10,000. I personally think someone will come along buy these up and drive prices through the roof. There is a small enough mintage for a promoter to buy the supply up and drive prices up. I would have been buying about 4 unc leafs for what I'm buying 1 adams slabbed smooth edge for, so right there I can relelate on how saturation of other error coins affect prices.

If memory serves, and please correct me if I am wrong, Rob at Old Pueblo coin in Tucson either discovered or brought the Wisconsin error to the public attention origionally. Most of them were found in rolls origionally released in Tucson. Rob and local cent dealers had booths at the show, and I suspect that is why so many were available. I really did not notice, as my search was for early dollars, not cents. I was thrilled to pick this 1800 Americai wide date low 8 up:
As far as my impression of the show went, from the perspective of walking around, I did not have a booth; It seemed a bit slow, but considering the state of the economy right now, that seemed a bit expected. I was was fairly pleased with the quality of the dollars I collect available.
