Guess the grade - Vermont Commem Half - GRADE REVEALED!

Thanks to all who posted. I've been looking a long time for a Vermont that truly knocks my
socks off colorwise. Not sure any exist. I finally bought this one from Northeast Numismatics
at a show (actually I think it was part of a trade), and am quite happy with it. Very nice
and lustrous coin in hand.

<< <i>What is it with the folks in Vermont. Do they varnish everything they get their hands on? >>
Maybe it's maple syrup...

I would suspect the original holder was the cause of the toning. How were these packaged- wood box?

Or one with COLOR? I've never seen a Vermont with real color.
Here's mine... these are nice in that they have such high relief
Here is a white MS64 for comparison (I think its a MS65 but twice PCGS says its MS64):

64 looks like a rough grade for that, I agree with you and call it a 65

on a coin
65 because I think the high contrast is bringing out more noise that might otherwise be readily visible in hand (and even then it isn't a lot of nose).

<< <i>AU 58, cleaned and retoned. If PCGS grades it higher than that the syrup was blocking the view of the intern grader that day. >>
Cleaned and retoned???? with that kind of luster I don't think cleaning is possible and this toning seems to be pretty common on these.
but my Vermont before PlastX
and after PlastX
good stuff
.
Are you blind???
<< <i>For those of you who say AU58, my question is:
.
Are you blind???
I think the AU58 people are looking at the rear of the jaw line and seeing that area as "rub"
either way, tough to grade from a photo

A blind (really visually impaired is the prefered term) person
would have less trouble discerning rub
than some of our "sighted" members I think
