eBay Gold Scam

0 feedback, all images off heritage, crappy looking auctions. Certainly looks like a scam to me.

PAYMENT WITHIN 36 HOURS OF AUCTION END PLEASE! >>

Gee, I wonder why he wants to be paid so quickly?

  • Trying to make a quick $15-20K. All auctions end within a few hours of each other!
I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming down for quite a while!
  • Nice work image

With this being a new seller-won't funds be held by paypal until positive feedback is received?

    Good question.

Either way if the winning bidders pay with CC they should be OK in getting funds back.

This is something I can't possibly understand...I started to sell something on my 2nd account with only 12 feedback and the system told me the funds may be held like that-- But, only about 40% of people who buy from me ever even leave feedback-- So, how can this work?

If no complaints or chargbacks from the buyer, PayPal releases the funds 21 days after they are received. I just happen to think that 21 days is a long time.

    Edited for spelling.

Several days ago, I emailed the seller about local pickup if I am high bidder, but didn't receive any response.

New sellers only have $200 paypal protection, I wonder if paypal only holds the $200 if they only cover $200?

Doesn't matter what PayPal will do since I'd do a charge back to the CC.

That's the only way the buyer will be protected, I would do the same thing. I know it's a drop in the bucket for Paypal, but you'd think Paypal's system would red flag this seller, if he screws all the buyers, Paypal's gonna owe $200 an auction right?

Yep. Scammers like this one are in for a rude awakening when they try to take the money and run.
