Dow futures down 550, silver$8 and change...

Might not be a bad time to pull the trigger on a little silver.

I remember a note to self, buy at $8, just can't remember if I meant $8.00 or $8 and change. jws

Good luck finding physical silver for less than $12-13oz. The spot price you quote is for paper silver. Real silver is nowhere near that price!!

Manorcourtman, yes I know. The spread is a tad much but at least you can find it now in less than 1000oz bars.

I'll probably wait and see what's happening at 4:00 this afternoon.

Be patient ... just wait ... the price of real silver will come down, once the panic buying is over....give it a few month. Just my thoughts.

Have you seen that Maple Leafs are $12.49 each on Teletrade Direct?

If you want silver at the futures prices why not just buy a futures contract and take delivery? Might be worth a call to your broker if you're willing to buy in bulk..

Metals are still unavailable at the many shops in my 50 mile radius. You can send away for silver and then wait, but be careful. In this environment I would expect numerous bullion dealers and even small B&M's to start having cash flow issues. Be careful who you deal with as you may not see your cash again. Cash and carry is the only way I would play. Unless I see the product before I buy it, I won't be sending any bullion or mail order dealer a check. I lost $11K to a coin dealer in 1991 that basically used my coins/cash to fund his business until he went bankrupt following the market downturn. He (long time ANA member no less) came back into the business a few years ago and who's to say he won't pull it again on a fresh group of customers. Bullion dealers can probably turn down quicker than anyone.

Roadrunner is 100% right, guys. It's a different world now. Be careful. Very careful.

Well I decided to wait. So silver should go through the roof. image.

With the current turbulent times I'm now trying to decide between cash, or guns and ammo. image. jws

Make sure you are buying real silver not paper silver.
