It would only help major collections like say Keith Olberman or Dimitri Young's. I can't imagine anyone would want "Joe the plumber collection" on their PSA 8 Dan Marino RC.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
PSA does it as well. I know Steve Soloway has all of his cards pedigreed, and Charlie Sheen did. They even did some anonymous ones for "Mr. X" who was too famous to have his name on there, at least as the story went. But they wouldn't do it for hobby icons like Lionel Carter, so I have no idea where the line is drawn.
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

but I bet someone would use this for The TINA MARIE collection

It would be really neat to have www.billripken.com on all my FF versions, but to pay to have them all re-done..I'll pass.
I gotta believe it would hurt any chance of re-sale in MOST cases.
ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!
You definitely fall under the true collectors mentality as does the Sabo guy...
Most people are stuck on the investment value piece that a true ballsy collector approach is hindered.
Life would be so simple if I could do that also.
