Do any businessmen on these boards use encased coins for advertising purposes?

I was taking a read through the Whitman Tokens and Medals book, and I read the section on encased coins. I never knew there were so many variations. Do any businessmen on these boards use encased coins for advertising purposes? I think that would be neat. Instead of giving out a business card that everyone just either throws out or tosses into a drawer, I think an encased coin would differentiate you from someone else. I suppose in certain professions these could not be used (it might look strange if your surgeon, prior to your surgery, gave you a "lucky penny" encased coin, rather than his professional card).

I was wondering if anyone used encased coins for advertising their business.

    Apparently not.

But it would be cool to see the practice resurrected!
  • Tim Puro (at VTCoins) and his dad have the gold-plated IHC golfball markers..., that's pretty cool. I don't think they did a logo though.

If they did a UHR version I might take up golf.

I know a NC surgeon who uses encased coins.

He also has brightly colored annodized aluminum tokens for his younger patients who have been good.
