Ebay wins, I'm too old to opt out any longer

Finally had to quit opting out of the new format. Just getting too old and tired to do it. New format not so bad once you decide not to go back! image

What I hate is how the default search is "Best match". How the hell do they determine what the best match is? When I search I wanna do "ending soonest".

Positive BST Transactions (buyers and sellers): wondercoin, blu62vette, BAJJERFAN, privatecoin, blu62vette, AlanLastufka, privatecoin

For the kids in the back of the class; how do you opt out.
My opt out button disappeared a week ago.

I hate that too , whose best match are they trying to show us anyhow?

I'll second that. I spent 30 minutes yesterday trying to find the "opt out". Gave up.
Please don't tell me it's right there on the opening page, because it's not.

Do you notice how much extra time that is wasted while that crappy new format loads? And you have to wait for every new search and every new page. It takes much less time to opt out. Look harder, the opt out is hidden quit well.

Ebay must certainly have a plan to drive away as many customers as is humanly possible, with the electronic payment requirement, the opt out, the best match idiocy.............

What's next? I'm surprised they don't run you through 5 "best match" auctions before letting you see your own...........

Yep. This should be a preferance that you can set in your profile. But it's not. eBay knows that no one would ever used their damned "Best Match" abomination.

Instead, what I do is create a folder of eBay bookmarks on my Firefox toolbar, each one being saved from a search I've done with the appropriate search/display properties set. I have about a dozen for various searches I do frequently. So then instead of going to eBay and THEN searching and having to [CENSORED] with the settings, I start with a bookmarked search and most of my work is done...

'Best match' follows some algorithm that heavily tilts toward how 'good' of a little fleabay seller you are, then, apparently, how much time is left.

I agree it's TOTALLY useless, much like most everything else on the 'bay these days.

It varies between two locations, more or less randomly. Some days it is right there at the top right hand side in plain view. Other days it is at the very bottom, hidden in the middle of a sentence about testing the new format. Is is definitely still there though, I know this because I don't save browser cookies between sessions, so I have to opt out every day.
